we have dragons
We are a DreamWorks How to Train Your Dragon RP set a decade after the first movie. Vikings and dragons have been enemies since time began. The tribe of Berk has recently reconciled with the intelligent beasts, but a new problem has arisen in the form of their forgotten neighbors, the Vikrins of Yorin, who actively hunt and overpower dragons, using them as tools for war... and they're quickly becoming a danger to the Berkians, aided by an old foe, the self-proclaimed Dragon God.

Scraps of mist meandered through the forest, twining around the trunks of the trees that spread themselves out across the land. A figure stirred the fog, the vapors curling angrily as a tall man carelessly strode them. His steps were heavy, but his heart still light, his mood cheery despite there being a lack of reason for it to be so.

Indeed, Kithar could easily attest to the fact that he was tired. Oh, his legs were sore! But that was a small concern. It was also true his clothes were still in rather poor look, large patches stained with mud, and all with it's layer of acquired dirt. Not that he particularly cared what he looked like. Besides, who else would care out here? That probably linked to the next point. Kithar was, as would be somewhat expected based on his current location, fairly lost. Exaggerating fairly to a small extent. But hey, getting lost was half the fun! Besides, in theory, he would eventually find his boat again . . . assuming it was even intact still.

No, what was worrisome was the fact that it had been some time since Kithar had eaten. That fact probably wasn't helped by the loss of his only weapons and valuable tools. Honestly though, he couldn't even remember what had happened to his daggers. They were there, and then when he went to get one, they weren't. A bad thing? Well, it certainly didn't help to catch food or defend himself . . . but he had a feeling most dragons and giant eels weren't bothered by some shiny daggers. At least the forest was warm enough and dry enough to keep away the latter.

A chagrined grin stretched over the man's face as his stomach made a plaintive growl. Sighing as he rubbed the back of his neck, Kithar swept his silver hair from his face with his other pale hand, silvery eyes glancing around. "Alright, alright. Guess I better try foraging. It's a forest, right?" Hmm, but lots of things were poisonous. Pausing, he shrugged. "Oh well. Only so many things can be deadly to humans after all! I mean, everything could, but then I'd probably die anyways, so hey, why not?" Halting a second, Kithar chuckled as he realized he was talking to himself out loud. Bad habit. Oh well. Scanning around, that left the question of which direction looked more promising for the foraging of food. Not that he had ever been good at directions.

The zippleback circled over the land. Keen eyes scanned the area for any prey. Normally TaiYun would simply fish while so close to the ocean, and there were plenty of waterways for him to fish from. But the presence of giant eels throughout the island meant he didn't dare. Not only were the eels big enough to hurt him eels were poisonous in general. A good reason to avoid the fish. TaiYun didn't want his fish contaminated. So instead he searched for land prey to pounce upon.

Movement in the mist drew his attention. Prey! Silently TaiYun dropped from the sky down to where the movement was coming from. Even better, the silly creature was making plenty of noise. Moving rapidly in the dive TaiYun almost realized too late that his marked prey was a human. Not that he liked them or anything, but they did not taste good, and he wasn't nearly desperate enough to eat human. Screeching in anger TaiYun sharply pulled up trying to keep from crashing. He hit the ground hard only a few feet in front of the human.

Furious at the failed hunt TaiYun rapidly spun around. Gas poured out as he arched his spark head and practically screamed into the human's face. How dare this insignificant creature interrupt his hunt? Nevermind that it was his mistake that brought him to the human TaiYun was ticked.

Whoosh. Did the air normally go whoosh? Perhaps whoosh wasn't the right word. In any case, it became very apparent that something was different. And that wasn't just the wind. Actually . . . there wasn't any wind anyways, so that didn't really matter. It was hard to hear, more an echo of a sound, but it tickled at the edge of the senses. But still, it did not sound like wind. At least, no ordinary wind.

Likely because it wasn't. A few tons of flying mass airborne on wings several meters wide often takes on itself a different sound than that of the light airy breezes. Especially when diving down at high speeds. Silver eyes were already glancing up, just in time to behold a golden-green form block the sky above him as it jaws opened in a loud harsh screech. Jumping, reflex kicked in, sending Kithar leaping to the side out of the way. Stumbling as something caught under his boot, the human nearly tripped, falling into a roll instead. Close save. Coming back onto his feet swiftly with cat-like grace (cat-like grace that tripped him to begin with), the male spun around, glanced up at the creature that had just landed before him, only narrowly missing a collision perhaps due in part to his evasive maneuvers.

Said creature seemed to be a dragon. Shocking really. But, to be honest, Kithar had thus far managed to avoid all but one encounter with the large reptilian denizens of the land so far, and the first had been . . . a bit out of the norm. This one however seemed very angry, whirling on the man. Two head leered at Kithar, one spewing a green . . . err, gas? The other very audibly expressed the creature's anger, making Kithar wince as his ears rang, even while a grin spread across his face. Huh. Fascinating.

Call Kithar strange, but he found being near a deadly armored beast that seemed very hostile very exhilarating. For starters, he'd never seen a mult-headed dragon before. And, well, having his heart flutter as it had just done a bit was probably one of his favorite feelings anyways. He was shamelessly an adrenaline junky, and he loved it.

Coughing, Kithar raised an eyebrow, silvery eyes watering slightly as the gas diffused, spreading across them. Cautiously taking a step back, moving to cover his mouth with his arm, the dizzying gas already trying to make him woozy and light headed. "H-hey there big guy!" Kithar's eyes sparkled through the water, the silvery man seemingly largely unaffected by the obvious warning signs. Ignorant would have been too generous a term. He saw them, just . . . ignored them. Consciously or unconsciously, well who could tell?

TaiYun glared at the human. He was furious, and powerful, and expected the human to respond to that. Instead the human just stared. How was he not reacting? Did he not see the magnificence of the zippleback? His raw power? His fury? He should be cowering, trying to appease him for being so clumsy and drawing the dragon's attention. Never mind that it was only the noise the human had been making that saved TaiYun from hitting him. He was still quite grumpy. Faced with a smiling human however TaiYun wasn't quite sure what to do.

His gas head halted in producing the explosive gas, leaning back and examining this strange human. He could smell that the human was startled, perhaps even nervous. But afraid? Where was the fear? His more impulsive spark head flared his wings hissing sharply. He would have moved even closer were it not for the nagging doubts of the gas head. Was this a trap? Other humans nearby? Was that why he'd been so clumsily obvious? Accepting this idea his spark head twisted baring his deadly spark at the fog hiding his enemies.

Ngh. Man that gas was some potent stuff. Starting to feel light headed, Kithar was relieved when the one head stopped spewing gas. Coughing again, the human waved the green stuff away, dispersing it somewhat into the air. Throwing his arms up as the dragon turned a discerning eye to him, Kithar grinned, his manner unnervingly at ease as he playfully went along. "Don't shoot!" He joked, chuckling as he held his hands above his head, pale fingers empty.

Dropping them as the other head turned away, the human gave a low whistle of appreciation. "Not just two heads but two minds eh?" On second thought, they might be a living nightmare. Stuck together with your sibling? Not that he knew much of having a sibling himself, but the thought of having to share one body with another mind seemed . . . a bad idea to say the least. I mean, how did they ever decide anything? Did one head control half the body and the other the other half, or was it both of them controlling the whole thing? Oof, and what happened when they didn't agree? It seemed quite an uncomfortable thing.

But hey, maybe it was natural to them! I mean, don't judge what you don't know yourself right? That was one theory at least. Kithar glanced around, curious as to what exactly the second head was looking for anyways.

The sudden rapid movement caught TaiYun off guard. Thinking it was an attack TaiYun immediately responded with an attack of his own, lunging forward to take a bite out of the human's arm. Yes they tasted bad, but that didn't mean that TaiYun was against hurting them. It simply meant he wouldn't hunt them. TaiYun released a spark through the fog trying to scare off any enemies that were out there before swinging his attention back to where his more vulnerable gas head had lunged at the human attacking him. The zippleback hissed aggressively ready to protect himself from the human that he had been foolish enough to think for even a moment might be harmless.

Kithar had at least some sense it seemed. A very, very, very small amount, but some, none-the-less. Jerking back as one of the heads snapped at him suddenly, pain shot through his arm and the man tore it away, causing some further damage and tearing away his shirt sleeve, but saving himself from perhaps losing that entire chunk of arm. A grunt of pain escaped as he stumbled back, right hand immediately moving to grip at the wound as a pained grimace replaced Kithar's grin briefly. Clenching his teeth slightly, the human took a quick step back, taking his right hand from his arm long enough to quickly pat around himself. Damn. Nothing. Hovering over his scarf, Kithar clicked his tongue, instead making the more painful movement to rip of his other sleeve. Wincing as he moved his left hand, he quickly ripped the fabric, silver eyes glancing at the dragon as he worked. Just to make sure it wasn't going to bite him again. Since, that would be bad. Using his teeth and right hand, he managed to wrap and tie off the injury pretty swiftly, but it didn't take long for the cloth to stain red, and blood covered both his hands.

Sighing, a hurt expression crept over his features as Kithar glanced up at the dragon, trying to keep a steady voice as he looked up at it with puppy eyes. "That was uncalled for you know! I say there was . . . there was no . . . haaah" His pouty face breaking into a somewhat pained grin, Kithar laughed, wincing as he did. Ow. Again. His heart was still racing, and he was shaky all over, but something about that felt good. I mean, it hurt. It really hurt. Like getting stung by a whole nest of fireants at once in the same place. His arm felt like it was on fire, and a bit of that showed in his face, his eyes squinting slightly.

But the adrenaline rush . . . ohooo, it was good. Quivering as he drew in a breath, Kithar's breath caught in pain a moment. His voice quivering a bit as he spoke again, he shook his head in a bemused way, chuckling slightly. "Heh, guess I . . . guess I deserved that one." Sure, it was hissing at him. Sure, it had just bit him. But, you know, there wasn't really a good way to run anymore anyways. So to hell with it. If this wasn't exciting then he was already dead anyways.

The man was fast. TaiYun's bite had been fairly light for his species, more as a warning against the aggression than a hard and fast attack meant to do as much damage as possible. He watched the human retreat eyes narrow. The human was clearly in pain, and had taken the warning as it was meant. There was no more show of aggression in the human, more occupied with the wound and tending to it. Looking at it TaiYun thought it looked much worse than it would have if he had bit a dragon. It would have only been a shallow wound instead of the bleeding sore that was now on the man's arm.

He watched with some interest as the man tended to it. TaiYun personally would have licked the wound clean first, but he wasn't a human, and had no way of mentioning that he thought the human was cleaning the wound wrong, unless one counted his disdainful clicks and arched heads. Leaning forward he sniffed at the wound, his spark head keeping a wary eye on the human in case he decided to try and attack again, despite TaiYun proving he was faster and better at attacking than the human. There was so much blood! How could so much seep from such a tiny wound?

The human made an amused sound, earning a wary look from TaiYun. He still licked at the blood, helping to clean up the wound. The coppery taste was alright, but not as delicious as it would be coming from actual prey. More of a chore, like cleaning another dragon, than anything else. Still, someone had to show the human what he was supposed to do after being injured, and clearly the human wasn't too bright.

Kithar glanced over his handywork with a chagrined smile, the corners of his lips twisting up. Messy job. To think he claimed to be half decent at crafts. Guess there was a world of difference between sewing a rip and bandaging youself with only one hand. Not to mention he didn't clean it. Then again, with no immediate source of water, clean water, stopping the bleeding was probably more important. Besides, if he bled to death, it would mess up his handsome silver hair!

Grinning at the thought, Kithar quirked an eyebrow in amusement as the dragon clicked at him in a manner that very much suggested the dragon had words to say. Not that dragons talked. Unless they did. He wasn't exactly the expert after all! Unkess you counted the ways he had pissed them off . . . this would not be his first time accidentally being injured due to poor interactions with one. Or causing injuries. Though most of those were purely accidental and in no way his fault! Mostly. At least, not completely.

But back to now. Because the present is important. Occasionally at least. Glancing questioningly at the dragon's dual arched heads, Kithar might have crossed his arms. If one wasn't, y'know, covered in makeshift bandages and bleeding. Settling for planting his right hand on his hip, Kithar tilted his head slightly at the beast, clicking his tounge. "Patronizing me now? Geez, aren't you a bully!" A mockingly stern expression hiding his pained look for a moment, he hesitated as the dragon leaned closer, blinking in surprise as it began licking the blood from his arm.

Tasting him? Maybe. Or maybe the dragon was trying to clean the mess Kithar was making, bleeding all over the place without a care. At first, the man seemed puzzled, and slightly amused, but didn't reject. Maybe he should get a new title. Kithar Dragonlicked! How many people were licked by dragons? And in such a short time frame as well!

But as the two-headed beast's (or beasts'? It had two heads, but he was still unsure whether to think of it as one being or two) tongue lapped against the open and raw gash that poked from the bandages, pain bit hard. Sucking a breath in with a near silent hiss, Kithar clenched his jaw. Yeah. Touching open wound. Bare flesh and tissue and nerves. Of course it hurt. But it was more than that. Whatever dragons thought passed for hygeine wasn't quite the same as for humans. Probably because the smaller, squishier, and weaker creatures were much more fragile. So a rough tongue scraping across a seeping wound burned like fire. It probably wasn't helped by the fact that at least one of the heads breathed some kind of gas that made Kithar dizzy.

Finally snapping from his stiffness, Kithar unclenched his jaw, firmly putting the palm of his right hand to one of the dragon's heads and shoving it back as he spoke, ready to snap his hand back this time should the touchy fellow bite. "Hah, sorry buddy, don't think that will -ngh- work here. Appreciate the effort" Flashing a grin, Kithar winced, his arm burning. Dragon saliva on wounds? Also not fun.

TaiYun snorted at the man's pose, not in the slightest impressed by his act. He could smell how badly hurt the man was, something he didn't really understand considering how he hadn't meant to leave a wound that would badly injure the man. Just warn him. Then again, he wasn't used to interacting with humans, and he knew they lacked scales. A softer bite would definitely be required in the future. Yet again, would he want to be soft with humans when they threatened him? Sure, this one seemed fine enough, but he had definitely been threatening TaiYun. Perhaps it was best that he had been injured by the zippleback.

TaiYun had managed to clean most of the blood away, and was starting on the actual wound now. The human had wrapped it up blocking it from the dragon but he was still determined to do what he could to clean it. As soon as he hit the wound he began working harder, ignoring the way that the human stiffened. It was an open wound, of course working on it was going to sting. Only the human pushed him away. TaiYun growled firmly and grabbed the human, much more gently this time. Holding the human as he would a rather stubborn youngling TaiYun lowered his head again, sniffing at the wound. He couldn't get to it properly with it covered. He whined and pushed at the cloth, his spark head licking at the edges that he could reach.

It turned out that this time there was perhaps less reason to fear being bitten by the creature. Indeed, the dragon in question did not try to strike when Kithar pushed it away. But it did growl. Before the human could do more than frown slightly, it's heads were snaking forward. Pulling his hand back, Kithar found himself rooted to the spot, constricted where he stood, held in place to prevent any thoughts of escape while the dragon sniffed at his arm.

Captured by dragons. Well, at least he had done that before. Though the last time had been far more pleasant than this one. Not that this was unpleasant, just . . . painful. Oh, Kithar was sure the giant scaly carnivore meant well. Or was just exercising some cruel and unusual form of torture on it's prey. But either way, he was pretty sure it brushed it's teeth less than your average Viking. Which is really a feat in itself.

Kithar grimaced slightly, sighing in defeat as one of the heads pushed at the rather impromptu bandage, exposing just a little more of the wound. Silvery eyes wincing, he sucked in a breath, trying to very little avail to loosen up. "Remind me to see a doctor" He muttered jokingly, a second later a slight pained smile forcing through as he realized that, on second thought, a Viking doctor was only going to be as painful if not more.

TaiYun growled impatiently as he tried to examine the bite. Unfortunately as poorly as it was tied the dragon still couldn't manage to get the rest of it open to clean. Huffing he released the human and stepped back, grumbling to himself unhappily. Yun tried suggesting that they chew the cloth off, but Tai was done with the fussy wound. It was none of his business in the end really. The human had deserved to be bit. Hissing Yun agreed that perhaps it was the human's fault and they'd let him look after the wound himself. In agreement TaiYun pulled back his tails slashing behind him. Looking up he sniffed the air, again searching for prey to eat.
