we have dragons
We are a DreamWorks How to Train Your Dragon RP set a decade after the first movie. Vikings and dragons have been enemies since time began. The tribe of Berk has recently reconciled with the intelligent beasts, but a new problem has arisen in the form of their forgotten neighbors, the Vikrins of Yorin, who actively hunt and overpower dragons, using them as tools for war... and they're quickly becoming a danger to the Berkians, aided by an old foe, the self-proclaimed Dragon God.

CHAPTER 1: STOKER CLASS

user posted image

Dragons in this class are best known for their fire-breathing abilities. Some are capable of setting themselves on fire or re-lighting another dragon's extinguished flame.

TERRIBLE TERROR

Rarity
Very Common
Appearance
The Terrible terror is a quadrupedal dragon with stalky long legs and a stout little body. Along their back, like the Monstrous Nightmare, they have flexible flame-shapes spines along their backs in a single row. These feirsty little dragons have 3 horns, one behind each eye and one a top their snout. The ringed horns behind the dragons eyes get longer as they age and can be used to age the dragon by counting the rings. From nose to tail these dragons are between 3 to 5 feet long (1 meter) with a wing span of 2 to 3 feet wide (slightly less than 1 meter). These small dragons come in an unlimited variety of colors.

Life History
Terrible Terrors are pack hunting dragons with a unique pecking order. The pack will have one alpha (male or female), a variety of betas (terrors unrelated to one another but travel together) and then the gammas (off spring of the alpha and betas). Gammas are usually young dragons with no mating privileges, if they want to breed once they come of age they must leave their home pack and fight for a place as a beta in another pack. Terrible Terrors don't form mating bonds but rather males and females compete with one another for the right to mate with the strongest members of the pack. All Terrible Terrors lay their eggs together into a large pile and all the new Gammas are cared for by the pack as if they are all the parents of all the fledgelings.

Common
Appearance
Monstrous Nightmares are a large bi-pedal dragon measuring about 60 feet (20 Meters) from nose to tail with a wingspan of approximately 70 feet (22 meters). Monstrous Nightmares move like bats, walking on their wings and hind legs in what looks like an awkward limber. Monstrous Nightmares are, however, fairly comfortable on the ground though they prefer fighting, hunting and traveling by air. Long their wide backs Monstrous Nightmares have two rows of flexible flame-shaped spines and a crown of 4 to 6 horns. On their limbs Monstrous Nightmares bare long curving claws that dull as they age. In general Monstrous Nightmares are a warm color, red, orange, pink, yellow or something like that but others are different flame colors: green, blue or even violate.

Life History
Monstrous Nightmares are fiercely protective family-oriented dragons. Male and female dragons usually only breed once in a season and only stay together until the fledgelings have left the nest, but this is not always the case. Some male Monstrous Nightmares leave their nests and mates to continue on with their lives and some male Monstrous Nightmares stay with their mates long after the little ones have grown and gone. Similarly some male dragons will try to eliminate the competition's eggs while others will defend the nests of females who aren't even their mates. Female Monstrous Nightmares, however, are less unpredictable. They are very dedicated mothers who will guard their eggs and young with their lives, once the young dragons can fly on their own, however, the mother will let them go. This doesn't mean she forgets them and is likely to be more affectionate to her kin than other dragons if their paths meet.

Appearance
Fireworms, from a distance, just look like a long bodied firefly but when looked at closer they bare a resemblance to their queen. They are a long bodied (1-5 inches), 10 legged serpent like dragon. Their backs are smooth and their bodies are spineless, with the exception the horn that grows on the top of their snout which gets longer the older they get, as babies this horn is nothing but a nub. In general these dragons are multiple shades of red, brown, yellow or orange.

The Fireworm Queen looks much like her workers except she tends to be lighter in color and she is many times their size. Her body length is about 40 feet long (12 meters) and her wingspan is about 40 feet (12 meters). Unlike her workers the Fireworm Queen does not just bare one nose horn but she may bare 3-6 delicate looking nose horns that are complimented by a crown of 6 - 12 delicate looking curved spikes.

Appearance
Typhoomerangs are a massive bi-pedal dragons with vast umbrella like wings. From nose to tail they are over 130 feet (40 meters) long with wingspans of over 160 feet (50 meters) wide. These dragons have large thick bodies and massive broad wings complimented at either end by a long narrow tail and long narrow neck. On the sides of this dragon's head are large, thick, straight ram-like horns. Like the Monstrous Nightmare these dragons can set their backs on fire and fly in a unique spiral pattern at lift off to produce a pocket of warm rising air beneath them. Usually these dragons have pale heads and wing fringes with a pastel colored body. The body color of these dragons varies greatly.

Age Cycle

Life History
Typhoomerangs are mostly solitary dragons. This is because they tend to be fussy, attention seeking and are prone to jealousy. When these dragons travel together with others of their own kind they usually get unnecessarily competitive and this can lead to fights and even to death. The Typhoomerang breeding season is a sort one, only a few weeks long, when a large number of these titanic dragons all get together on their breeding ground. After breeding male and female dragons go their separate ways. The female then tends to the eggs and young on her own until the hatchlings reach the shortwing stage. As short wings siblings often stay together in a small pack until their squabbling becomes too much which usually occurs when they are half the adult's size. At this point they begin their solitary lives.

Appearance
Snafflefangs are plump, thick bodied, almost boulder-class looking bi-pedal dragons with long hind limbs and short almost useless forelimbs. Like many of the stocker class dragons the Snafflefang has flexible flame-shaped spines down it's dorsal surface and two protruding ringed horns at the back of it's skull. These horns tend to grow irregularly and at odd angles but they will always have the same number of rings on them (no matter their length) which can be used to age the dragon. Most Snafflefang dragons are covered in blotched markings with bright, pastel coloration.

Age Cycle
Egg for 6 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 10 years / Short Wing until 25 years / Broad Wing until 80 years / Titan wing until death around: 200 years
Life History
Snafflefang dragons mate for life. A pair of Snafflefangs will never leave one another if they can help it and they will never mate again if their significant other dies for any reason. Snafflefangs take a long time to reach sexual maturity and even longer to find their mate. Some reports say that Snafflefangs don't find their mates until they reach titan wing, but when a Snafflefang finds their one they are always sure that it is their one. Baby Snafflefangs are also slow maturing, they tend to linger with their parents for long periods of time only leaving from time to time. Usually when a Snafflefang offspring does not return to it's parents it means they have found a mate of their own. In the mean time older offspring of a pair will often spend time baby sitting and caring for their younger siblings.

The alpha pair are the breeding pair which usually mate for life but may change partners after several unsuccessful breeding seasons or if their partner dies. The pack will also consist of the young dragons who are not yet sexually mature and the current season's offspring. These packs are usually no larger than 12. Young Hobblegrunts hang around the nest for a few years and usually help care for one more of their parents clutches before they leave on their own. Hobblegrunts are highly social dragons and through their packs are small they often seek out nests of other dragons to linger at.

CHAPTER 2: BOULDER CLASS

Boulder-Class dragons are sturdy, tough creatures associated with the earth. They can eat rocks and usually have disproportionately small wings (but are still able to fly like any other dragon).

GRONCKLE

Trainability Level

Rarity
Common
Appearance
Gronkles are lumpy rock-shaped dragons with large lump-like protruding scales all over their boulder bodies. On the bottom of their bodies they have short stubby legs that end in short stubby, but sharp, claws designed to dig through even the hardest of materials. Other than their lumps Gronkles posses no fins or spines. On average gronkles are 14 feet long (4 meters) with a meager wingspan of only 18 feet (5 meters) at the most. It is these tiny wings, however, that allow gronkles to fly: up, down, backwards and even hover like a humming bird. These dragons vary wildly in color.

Life History
Gronkles are highly social dragons that are in desperate need of constant attention be it from other dragons or from their riders. From the moment gronkles are born they seek the closeness of their parents and their siblings. Gronkles do everything in groups, they sleep in gronkle piles, they eat together (though they tend to squabble because the only thing gronkles love more than one another is their food), they play together and they fight together as one. If anything threatens a gronkle, whether it is a member of their flock or not, they will always stand together to defend one another. Gronkles don't nessisarily mate for life, but it is not uncommon. Young dragons often stay with their family but sometimes they migrate off following their stomach until they find a more plentiful island that has the company they want.

Whispering Deaths are a large worm-like dragon that bares large thorn-like releasable spines that can be shot for many meters. The only non-serpentine feature of this dragon is it's large spherical head that has a large circular, or shark-like, mouth lined with up to 7 rows of blade like rotating teeth. The most defined spines on this thorny dragon are it's great crest of crown-like spines and the one on it's small snout. From snout to tail tip this dragon is usually between 80 and 90 feet long (arround 30 meters) with a wing span of 7 feet (2 meters). Life History
Unlike their cousin the gronkle these dragons tend to live somewhat solitary lives. Hotburples are migratory dragons, lazily fluttering across the archipelago but due to their lazy nature it may take these dragons up to 10 years to simply move from one island to the other. It's mostly by chance that these dragons get an opportunity to breed. When a male and female hotburple end up on the same island they usually will mate and part ways again whenever the mood strikes them. Eggs are laid on whichever island their mother happens to be be on at the time. When the eggs hatch they may be alone or they may have one or both parents still on the island, depending on how lazy their parents happen to be. The young dragons then just lumber around together on their island of birth until they can fly.

Hideous Zippleback are mildly social dragons. They don't mind the presence of other dragons but they are not overly fond of dragons in their own species group (this includes the Venus Snaptrapper - or anything else with multiple heads) after all one dragon with bickering heads is enough, anymore can cause problems. Despite the dragon's bickering heads they are also their own best friend. A Hideous Zippleback may be able to survive the loss of one of its heads but it will never be emotionally complete ever again. Hiddeous Zippleback only come together during the breeding season and the mother only cares for her two eggs until they hatch. After that the babies are left in a safe place to learn for themselves.

These dragons lure in their prey with the sweet scent of chocolate and anything foolish enough to follow the trail will be devoured, these are not picky dragons. Life History
Flightmares are very maternal animals breeding only once every 40 years. The males do not hang around with the females or the offspring, they continue on with their own migration after only a few days with the female. Flightmare mothers guard their single egg with their lives, they carrying them in their mouths or in their front feet as they continuously migrate. When the young dragon hatches they are completely dependent on their mother, riding on her back, until they are out of their Tiny Tooth stage. Once the young dragon reaches its Short Wing stage their mother will teach them the 10 year long migration pattern from start to finish. After their first migration the young Flightmare may remain with its mother for another 2 cycles though it may also leave early, this depends on the individual dragon. Once the juvenile is ready to migrate on their own the adult dragon will hang back for two full years, this not only gives her a chance to look for a mate again but it ensures the young and old dragon are not grazing and competing for the same food at the same time. Though these dragons almost exclusively feed on algae they will also feed on: dragon grass, dragon root, sea weed, fruits or vegetables when necessary.

CHAPTER 4: SHARP CLASS

user posted image

Sharp-Class Dragons get their name from, you guessed it -- the fact they have sharp, spiny body parts. They are frequently arrogant, prideful and finicky creatures.

DEADLY NADDER
user posted image
Size: Medium
Colors: Sky-blue, light red, purple, green
Noteworthy Features: Throw-able tail spikes, no arms, bipedal
Trainability: 3
Rarity: Moderately common
Strengths: Sharp vision, light and quick on its feet and in the air, incredibily hot magnesium flame
Weaknesses: Blind spot directly in front of its nose (probably due to its horn), lacks forearms, gives in to its pickiness and vanity
Statistics: Attack 10, Speed 8, Armour 16, Firepower 18, Shot Limit 6, Venom 16, Jaw Strength 5, Stealth 10
Overview: This is one of the moodier dragons, and takes some firm handling to raise, but once you win it over it will become very affectionate and playful. It’s known for unpredictability, and is easily offended by any wrong moves. But being gentle and slow will allow you to become close to this dragon. It’s very vain, and breathes the hottest flames known to the world, fuelled by magnesium. Picky eaters, prefers poultry and is allergic to red meat.
Age Range
Egg for 3 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 10 years / Short Wing until 25 years / Broad Wing until 90 years / Titan wing until death around: 95-100 years
LifeCycle - Moderate Parental Care
Nadders care for their brood as a couple from the egg stage until they are well into their tiny tooth stage. About half way through the tiny tooth stage the young nadders will begin wandering away, capable of feeding themselves on small fish and insects, even before they can fly. Satisfied their brood will take care of each other the parents will then leave and potentially go their separate ways - occasionally these dragons will mate for life (like birds). Once fledged the siblings will likewise go their own ways.

Strengths: Can shoot oil-based embers, its wings can shear through thick trees
Weaknesses: No legs whatsoever, needs to stand on its tail, low jaw strength
Statistics: Attack 10, Speed 12, Armour 8, Firepower 10, Shot Limit 8, Venom 0, Jaw Strength 3, Stealth 13
Overview: This giant dragon is difficult to approach, and not just because of its dangerous wings. It is difficult to befriend because of its wariness toward humans, and is not easily bribed or won over. It lives in small groups, usually two or four dragons at most, and likes to stay in one territory, and thus is very defensive. While a show of friendship can prove helpful in approaching these dragons, they’re known to be typically grouchy or at best reluctant to do much of anything. But, the wings of a Timberjack take up almost the entire length of his body, so he is unable to reach behind him. If you find an itch of a Timberjack, he’ll be your friend forever. He has no legs or arms, and usually stands on its tail, like a snake.
Age Range
Egg for 4 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 25 years / Short Wing until 40 years / Broad Wing until 100 years / Titan wing until death around: 150-180 years
LifeCycle - Low Parental Care
These dragons are highly territorial and either travel alone for their whole life or in small tight-knit flocks who are unwilling to admit new members after the bonds are formed. Mothers will lay their eggs well outside their own territory and will even chase away their own brood if the young dare enter their territory. As soon as the young hatch they move off to avoid aggression between the siblings. They will always move off on their own but they may join up with a flock of young tiny tooth dragons of their own species. Once they reach the short-wing stage, however, they will not accept new members into their flock, regardless of blood or age. In fact if a dragon leaves the flock for more than a few days they will not be readmitted into the flock.

SPEED STINGER
user posted image
Size: Medium (2 m / 7 ft )
Colors: Females are solid colors while males sport bright fins and striped marks - usually packs have the same base color due to genetics.
Noteworthy Features: Velociraptor-like, flightless, barbed tail
Trainability: 2
Rarity: Fairly common
Strengths: Fastest dragon on land, excellent nocturnal vision, very tough hides that protect from heat and weapons, paralyzing tail stinger
Weaknesses: Cannot fly, no fire capabilities, uses so much energy that it sleeps throughout the day,
Statistics: Attack 12, Speed 30, Armour 0, Firepower 0, Shot Limit 0, Venom 15, Jaw Strength 5, Stealth 30
Overview: Resembling a velociraptor dinosaur more than a dragon, the Speed Stinger cannot breathe fire or fly, but is a force to be reckoned with nonetheless - they're incredibly fast, conniving, and aggressive, moving in packs of dozens at a time, devoting all their energy to powering their leg muscles (which are strong enough to propel them up walls and across ceilings for short periods) and hunting during night-time. Confined to land, they rely on natural bridges and glaciers to move from place to place, seeking shelter in caves or tunnels; if they needed to defend themselves, they will use the scorpion-like barbs on their tail to whip out and incapacitate full-grown humans and dragons for hours at a time. They follow their leader at all times, a Stinger singled out by his red colouring, and are at a loss for what to do if they don't have one. They are said to be too aggressive to train, but if you manage to separate one from its pack and have enough willpower and patience, it's surprisingly easy.
Age Range
Egg for 4 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 10 years / Short Wing until 20 years / Broad Wing until 40 years / Titan wing until death around: 50-60 years
LifeCycle - Moderate Parental Care
Speed Stingers keep together in massive packs at all times which are headed by a single male leader (occationally governed by a pair of brothers but this can cause tension). Eggs are laid in large clutches with high female population ratios - usually by the most dominant females in the pack; and tend to go their own ways fairly quickly. Males often move on once they hit their short-wing stage to form packs of their own, but females grow up in the same pack unless they get lost or ostracised. Overall numbers are only curbed by the fact that there is not an unlimited supply of food, considering the species is exclusively carnivorous.
Quota: Currently unlimited

SCUTTLECLAW (Baby)
user posted image
Size: Smallish (1.5 m / 5 ft ) but large for babies -- adults will grow to be very large
Colors: Green, purple, blue, orange, black
Noteworthy Features: They have massive, bobble-like heads with big eyes, only just teething.
Trainability: 2
Rarity: Common
Strengths: Unable to be controlled or hypnotised
Weaknesses: Clumsy and directionless, listen to no-one
Statistics: Currently unknown
Overview: These are simply the toddler-like, adolescent versions of the grown dragon. Ungainly, turbulent, cute, and covered in nubs which will presumably grow into spikes given their class, they are incredibly big for babies and can carry full grown adults with ease meaning that the adult versions must be very large, fast and strong. They disrespect their elders and just about anyone, and like actual babies, are too young to understand simple commands, but also very docile and good for beginners to work with. They have a habit of chewing and jumping on anything within reach, though they will scatter if roared at.
Age Range
Egg for 4 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 5 years / Short Wing until 25 years / Broad Wing until 45 years / Titan wing until death around: 60-70 years
LifeCycle - Moderate Parental Care
Scuttleclaw babies are hatched in clutches of 4 - 10 eggs in one nest, the parents will remain together indefinitely and stay with their clutch for the breeding season and care for their babies for a few months after their hatch-date. Once the babies become too rambunctious for the short-tempered parents however they abandon the clutch in a secure location - usually just before their fledging time. For the next several years (5 - 25 years) the clutch will stay together and operate as a pack... a very disoriented pack, but a pack none the less. Once they hit sexual maturity, however, they leave the pack to find a forever mate of their own as they are very social dragons.
Quota: Unlimited.

RAINCUTTER
user posted image
Size: Large (25 m / 85 ft)
Colors: Highly varied - green, blue, purple, orange, brown and so on. Can be spotted.
Noteworthy Features: Long neck and tail, aerodynamic fins
Trainability: 3
Rarity: Common
Strengths: Unknown
Weaknesses: Unknown
Statistics: Attack 8, Speed 8, Armour 6, Firepower 12, Shot Limit 10, Venom 6, Jaw Strength 5, Stealth 14
Overview: This dragon's sharp, aerodynamic fins are used as much for fantastic flying skills and manoeuvrability as they are for offense. They're thought to be related to some Tidal Class dragons like Scauldrons, as they have similar bodies and happen to love wet, rainy climates. In fact, they dislike warm weather. They love to use their long necks to burrow through mud to find grubs and worms. More information to be added when available.
Age Range
Egg for 4 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 10 years / Short Wing until 30 years / Broad Wing until 75 years / Titan wing until death around: 100-110 years
LifeCycle - ? Parental Care
To be determined
Quota: Unlimited.

STORMCUTTER
user posted image
Size: Large (10 m / 31 ft)
Colors: Orange, bronze, brown, yellow, cream
Noteworthy Features: Four wings (one pair is used like arms), owl-like behaviour, intimidating head and face structure, breathes prolonged torus fire rings
Trainability: 5
Rarity: Very rare
Strengths: Exceptional manoeuvrability, fastest dive besides Night Furies, dexterous and powerful foreclaws
Weaknesses: Slow in flight, excessively proud, disadvantaged if one set of wings is restrained or damaged
Statistics: Attack 6, Speed 8, Armour 4, Shot Limit 8, Venom 0, others unknown
Overview: Some of the most dignified, confident and intelligent dragons around, Stormcutters are called thus because when they split away their second set of wings to form an X-formation, they can do everything from blowing away thick clouds to manoeuvring in narrow spaces to making extremely tight turns and even hovering in midair. They are truly the maestros of beautiful, powerful flight, making full use of their muscular, powerful build. Though menacing with their spiny crowns and flat faces, they can be identified as soulful and gentle by their eyes. and won't even harm a human baby. They have fore-talons on their wings that can be used for tiny, precise movements like picking locks or large, crushing motions. To grow in sync with a Stormcutter takes great time, but the results are worth it.
Age Range
Egg for 9 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 15 years / Short Wing until 30 years / Broad Wing until 70 years / Titan wing until death around: 140-150 years
LifeCycle - Moderately High Parental Care.
Stormcutters are usually gentle and calm dragons, in fact they are the "nanny" of the dragon world. These tough powerful dragons that prefer to live solitary lives as adults do have a soft side for not only their offspring but the offspring of other dragons and animals as well. Parents do not stay together as mates for very long as they prefer solitary life style, but a pair will often mate several times - finding one another again every few decades. Parents do, however, remain together long enough for their 2 - 6 eggs to hatch and fledge. Once the babies can fly it is time for the parents to go their own ways - the males of the nest will follow their father while the females will follow their mother. For the next 20-30 years these parents raise their clutch with love and care until they are ready to live a solitary life of their own by their own choice. After all these dragons do not like to be babied once they hit maturity. These families have a strong tie, however, and if they meet one another again they will socialize and spend some time together before going on their way again. Furthermore adults of this species are known to adopt abandoned baby dragons that aren't even their own species.

CHAPTER 5: TIDAL CLASS

user posted image

Dragons in the Tidal Class are strongly associated with water and the ocean, usually living in or near large bodies of water. They also utilise something other than fire for their ranged attacks.

SCAULDRON
user posted image
Size: Large (30 m / 99 ft)
Colors: Turquiose, seafoam green, pale blue
Noteworthy Features: Ability to shoot boiling water, very long neck, gigantic size
Trainability: 4
Rarity: Relatively common out at sea, very rare close to land
Strengths: Agile and fast in water, can store water in its thermal belly
Weaknesses: Clumsy and ungainly on land due to tiny and stubby legs
Statistics: Attack 10, Speed 6, Armour 6, Firepower 14, Shot Limit 14, Venom 10 (also -10, can act as antidote), Jaw Strength 4, Stealth 10
Overview: These dragons, the whale sharks of the dragon world, hunt in pods and have hunted smaller dragon species to near extinction. However, they are also surprisingly playful; their previous “attacks” on Viking ships were actually gestures of play, though were misinterpreted by previous generations. While unable to fly, Scauldrons have wings that enable them to be incredibly quick swimmers, and can easily keep up with a flying dragon going over water. They can dive very deep as well, though this is not recommended for riding. They boil seawater in their large, cauldron-like bellies using the same dragon gas other species use to create fire. They enjoy playing, but their play can be dangerous to Vikings (such as their favorite water spitting game, where the water is boiling, or their bump the boat game, where their bodies are hard and rough). This make training and focusing them difficult. But if you douse yourself in water, or like to go swimming, you may find yourself a new friend in a Scauldron. They are sentimental, and love things that remind them of their wet home. They eat large amounts in one sitting - keeping them fed isn’t easy, though they can hunt for themselves. If they spend too long out of water, they will dry out and perish.
Age Range
Egg for 10 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 20 years / Short Wing until 30 years / Broad Wing until 85 years / Titan wing until death around: 100-150 years
LifeCycle - Moderately High Parental Care
Like humpback whales these dragons teach their young for several years how to survive the big wide world before eventually moving off from one another to live mostly solitary lives.
Quota: Currently unlimited

THUNDER DRUM
user posted image
Size: Medium to Massive (20 m / 65 ft - 85 m / 278 ft)
Colors: Blues, purples, greens, with lighter colored flecks
Noteworthy Features: Cylinder shape, huge mouth, ability to produce enormous sound waves, shark-like physiology
Trainability: 3
Rarity: Somewhat rare and reclusive, easier to find very far out at sea in caves and tidepools
Strengths: Concussive sound blasts, extremely strong
Weaknesses: Spindly legs and tail, lacks armour
Statistics: Attack 12, Speed 14, Armour 10, Firepower 16, Shot Limit 6, Venom 0, Jaw Strength 7, Stealth 8
Overview: The sharks of the dragon world, Thunder Drums are large and have huge mouths, which make up most of their girth. Once their mouth is closed and they expel all the air from their massive lungs, they become much sleeker and flatter. They have two pairs of wings - one large, and one smaller - and use these to move through the water like a tornado. They have four small legs and feet, and can walk, but prefer the ocean. They release sonic blasts that can be heard for miles - this immobilizes prey and attackers, and can burst eardrums if you’re too close. However, Thunder Drums are powerful dragons, assertive, and make their feelings known. They can be trained, but a show of strength is needed to gain their trust.
Age Range
Egg for 10 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 20 years / Short Wing until 30 years / Broad Wing until 85 years / Titan wing until death around: 100-125 years
LifeCycle - High Parental Care
Like killer whales these dragons live in small to very large family pods made up of several female generations of mothers, daughters, cousins, aunts and sisters. They are lead by a matriarch, the oldest and wisest member of the family. Young female dragons will not leave their pods. Male dragons are solitary only joining pods during the breeding season. Young males will remain with their family pod until they reach sexual maturity at which time his family will chase him away.
Quota: Currently unlimited

SEA SHOCKER
user posted image
Size: Medium (15 m / 52 ft)
Colors: Various shades of blue
Noteworthy Features: Two heads, like manta-rays, utilise electricity
Trainability: 4
Rarity: Common in far northern seas but they are furtive and dwell very deep
Strengths: Electrical shocks, dolphin-like sonar, can cut through ice
Weaknesses: Currently unknown. Likely fares poorly on/around land, in warmer climates, and in the air.
Statistics: Attack 18, Speed 16, Armour 20, Firepower 7, Shot Limit 12, Venom 14, Jaw Strength 8, Stealth 10
Overview: Supremely furtive and elusive, these deep-sea dwellers share the morphology of manta rays, the echolocation abilities of dolphins, the shocking abilities of electric eels, and the bioluminescence of deep-sea dwellers. Seeing their dark fins cresting the waves is the only sign that a pod is about to attack -- but even by then, it is too late for the victim, as they have already been located with sonar. The Shockers' bites leave large enemies paraysed, though this usually isn't necessary when they're hoarding together shoals of small fish. Their dorsal fins are made of super-tough cartilage that can cut through ice floes with ease, making them excellent hunters in the far north.
Age Range
Egg for 8 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 15 years / Short Wing until 30 years / Broad Wing until 50 years / Titan wing until death around: 90-100 years
LifeCycle - Moderate Parental Care
Like the previous Tidal class dragons, the Sea Shockers are similar to warm-blooded marine mammals in how they congregate in close familial pods. Newly-hatched young will swim with their families and fellow pod members for much of their lives unless they choose to split off. They have an equal mix of males and females, being more like eels or fish in nature, and simply work together as a hunting mechanism, cornering prey deep in the sea.
Quota: Unlimited.

BEWILDERBEAST
user posted image
Size: Titanic (160 m / 530 ft or longer)
Colors: White, grey, charcoal, light blue, muddy brown, purple
Noteworthy Features: Massive tusks, long crown of spikes, breathes ice
Trainability: Unknown
Rarity: Extremely rare
Strengths: Can control wild dragons to some extent, incredibly strong, breathe and swim underwater
Weaknesses: No flight, slow and heavy navigation
Statistics: Attack 50, Speed 6, Armour 38, Firepower 60, Shot Limit 8, Venom 0, Jaw Strength 48, Stealth 2
Overview: Another Alpha species, the Bewilderbeast is the King, much like the Red Death being the queen of nests. It is normal for them to have their own 'nest', often an icy shell built out of their own breath, amidst hot springs or an oasis, though they usually do dwell in the arctic deep. They are protectors or guardians of smaller dragons nearby, and it is up to the individual Bewilderbeast's morality and circumstances as to whether they generously take care of their smaller dragon fellows or choose to enslave them against their will. They are the caretakers or destroyers of nature, preordaining entire ecosystems. Technically any dragon can earn the respect of their peers and gain the ability to control them (it is not an inborn trait), but being the largest and strongest dragon breed usually puts them at the top of the chain. These behemoths combine many traits from whales, dinosaurs, elephants, and fish, adaptable to many environments; their form is terrestrial but they are a force to be reckoned with in water. Their most unique skill is their ability to breathe massive blasts of liquid nitrogen-like formula that turns into solid ice on contact with air.
Age Range
Egg for 24 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 30 years / Short Wing until 70 years / Broad Wing until 150 years / Titan wing until death around: 1500 years
LifeCycle - ? Parental Care
To be determined
Quota: 0 / 2 total (may only be owned by an extremely experienced Level 10 character).

CHAPTER 6: MYSTERY CLASS

user posted image

Mystery dragons are named such because little is known about them; they are rare, elusive or good at hiding themselves. Unlike most other classes, general traits can vary hugely between each species.

CHANGEWING
user posted image
Size: Medium (18 m / 60 ft)
Colors: Typically green or red, though these colors are rarely seen.
Noteworthy Features: Camouflaging ability, spits acid, capable of hypnotism
Trainability: 3
Rarity: Rare due to the difficulty in finding one
Strengths: Cooperate well with other dragons, their corrosive acid can burn through anything in seconds
Weaknesses: Fire-breathing abilities are nil, soft skin, not very strong
Statistics: Attack 9, Speed 14, Armour 1, Firepower 12, Shot Limit 10, Venom 0, Jaw Strength 2, Stealth 20
Overview: The hardest part about training a Changewing is finding them. Their camouflage is remarkable - they can change their body and spikes to match the texture and color of any surface, seeming to disappear almost completely, and adapt well to almost any environment. They were even known to hide themselves in Viking villages to steal food, and were never caught. These dragons are actually very curious and playful, but are wary of trusting because their skin, due to its ability to change, is very soft and vulnerable. Once their trust is earned, their favorite game to play is hide and seek - find the Changewing, and it will want to be your friend.
Age Range
Egg for 2 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 10 years / Short Wing until 30 years / Broad Wing until 80 years / Titan wing until death around: 90-100 years
LifeCycle - Moderately High Parental Care
These dragons have a social structure similar to a lion pride. Females live in small packs of 3-5, these are all sisters of the same clutch. Mothers care for their eggs and tiny tooth dragon-lings as well as assisting their sisters with their clutches. Together they raise the broods until they are fledged. Males will leave individually when they are ready or occasionally in small pairs of 2 or 3. Females will not leave until all of the sisters are prepared to leave all at once and start their own pack-life. Sisters are deeply bonded and can die of heart-ache if alone.
Quota: Currently unlimited

BONEKNAPPER
user posted image
Size: Large (24 m / 80 ft)
Colors: Bone-grey armour. Scales underneath are pale grey, olive green, blue.
Noteworthy Features: Builds its own armour out of the bones of dragons and other creatures. Weak and vulnerable without it.
Trainability: 3
Rarity: Very rare
Strengths: Very high defense
Weaknesses: Gaps in or lack in armour make it vulnerable and fragile
Statistics: Attack 7, Speed 10, Armour 18, Firepower 9, Shot Limit 6, Venom 0, Jaw Strength 4, Stealth 8
Overview: Regarded as almost-mythical due to its rare nature, the Boneknapper devotes much of its time - sometimes many years - to hunting down bones and assembling them as its armour, which acts like an exoskeleton. Think of a hermit crab finding itself the perfect shell. Sometimes this armour is necessary for basic tasks such as roaring. Without it, it is vulnerable, rather like a plucked chicken. However, if you give it what it wants (which will usually be some sort of bone), it will become incredibly friendly and playful.
Age Range
Egg for 8 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 50 years / Short Wing until 80 years / Broad Wing until 180 years / Titan wing until death around: 190-200 years
LifeCycle - No Parental Care
Bone Knappers have one single egg which they leave within a secure bone-mound. The young dragon will hatch, make its first armor out of the mound and begin its solitary life.
Quota: 0 / 4 total

SMOTHERING SMOKEBREATH
user posted image
Size: Small (2.5 m / 8 feet)
Colors: Grayish
Noteworthy Features: Very long, thin, spiked tail, stubby body. All of these dragons look near-identical.
Trainability: 1
Rarity: Found only on Breakneck Bog. Common there, nonexistent elsewhere.
Strengths: Shrouds self in veil of smoke to perform ambushes, strength in packs
Weaknesses: Susceptible to magpie-like hoarding habits, not so powerful alone
Statistics: Attack 4, Speed 8, Armour 6, Firepower 6, Shot Limit 3, Venom 0, Jaw Strength ?, Stealth High
Overview: These small dragons travel in packs and carry away objects and prey together; they're like a bat combined with a magpie. Their existence was always doubted, and it stands to reason that they don't even live on Berk; their home island, Breakneck Bog, was always thought to be haunted by a 'Fog Monster'. This is because of their tactic in emitting a combined smokescreen and attacking in numbers. They can breathe very hot fire that melds together the metals and treasures that they collect.
Age Range
Egg for 5 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 5 years / Short Wing until 10 years / Broad Wing until 30 years / Titan wing until death around: 40-50 years
LifeCycle - Very High Parental Care
Like the terrible terror theses are pack minded dragons who live by the saying "it takes a community to raise a child". These dragons will stay in their packs all their lives, even occasionally merging their pack with another if the food supply is rich.
Quota: Unlimited

RUMBLEHORN
user posted image
Size: Large (15 m / 50 ft)
Colors: Iridescent hide - combinations of red, green, orange, blue, magenta
Noteworthy Features: Beetle-like carapace, long horns, rhinoceros-like, shoots long-range missiles
Trainability: 3
Rarity: Relatively rare
Strengths: Excellent sense of smell, tracking capabilities, can hit objects from afar with its projectiles
Weaknesses: Unknown
Statistics: Attack 11, Speed 7, Armour 12, Firepower 11, Shot Limit 4, Venom 0, Jaw Strength 5, Stealth Unknown
Overview: The Rumblehorn is a mixture of rhinoceros, truffle pig and scarab beetle with a battleaxe snout. The bloodhound of all dragons, these technically belong in the newly-discovered Tracker class and are known specifically for being able to hunt down any object or person from the faintest scent. Heavily plated in armour at the front and top, they're very determined and stubborn, and can use their head as a battering ram as well as a muzzle to hunt for food, enemies and friends alike. They can breathe normal fire as well as shoot long-range missiles that explode upon impact, so they're an all-round useful ally, being both tank and tracker.
Age Range
Egg for 4 weeks / Tiny Tooth until 10 years / Short Wing until 30 years / Broad Wing until 80 years / Titan wing until death around: 120-130 years
LifeCycle - ? Parental Care
To be determined
Quota: Currently unlimited.

CHAPTER 7: STRIKE CLASS

user posted image

Dragons in the Strike Class are renowned for their incredible speed, strength and intelligence. They seem to have a connection (whether genuine or stylistic) with lightning.

NIGHT FURY
user posted image
Trainability Level
5
Rarity
Limited
Appearance
Night Furies are lithe built dragons with a wide but squat body with a long wiry tale. Their wings are broad and built for speed, in fact these dragons have the longest wing-to-body ratio of any known dragon. Their bodies are usually about 8.5 meters long (28 feet long) with a wingspan of about 40 to 45 feet long (13 meters). On the end of their tail they have wide fins used for balance and turning, at the base of their tail there is a larger tail fin used for stabilization. The size of these base fins can be used to deturmine the dragon's sex. Along their spines Night furies bare small rounded triangular spines - these are of little use until the second set it unlocked by a rider. Of course this dragon's main features are it's playful loving face which has large round ears and great big eyes - and who can forget those neat retractable teeth? Color wise these dragons are either dark grey or black. Some bare light to dark grey blotched or brindled markings and occasionally faded or darkened fin tips. Their eye-color however can be more spectacular than any other dragon species.

Life History
These endangered dragons were hunted nearly to extinction in the early stages of the viking and dragon war due to their stigmatism and dangerous fire abilities. This was detrimental to the species due to this dragon's low reproductive rate. The parents - sometimes a mated pair and sometimes a single female, will abandon their eggs to fend for themselves. This cruel but effective method ensures only the strong survive. Generally they have 1 egg per clutch but they can have up to 3. Clutchmates stay together for a long time, they share and help one another until they are large enough to fend for themselves. Of course once they are large enough to fend for themselves they became fiercly territorial. These dragons do not like one another's company though they greatly enjoy the company of other creatures - dragons, animals and usually humans a like.

Appearance
Skrill are long, thick bodied bi-pedal dragons with great long bat like wings. The thumbs of these long wide wings bare a large hooked and very sharp claw. Along the dragon's spine are 1 - 3 foot tall thick spines, these spines begin several spaces after the skrill's thorny crown-like crest of spines. Their faces are narrow and long and their big mouths are lined with uncountable teeth and behind them in a salmon colored forked tongue. The Skrill's vunerable belly scales are protected by sharp spine-like scales to either side of the belly. These dragons are 9 meters long (29 feet) with an average of 30 - 35 foot (10 meters). Color wise these dragons are fairly variable but their bodies are always a dark shade of whatever color their patch markings are, generally their belly is lighter.
